This place is as swampy as it gets around here!
Woods Bay State Natural Area stretches for over 1,500 acres in Olanta. The cypress-tupelo swamp area gives visitors an up-close look at one of the last remaining wet year-round Carolina Bays on the Atlantic Coastal Plain.
Explore the area on the boardwalk or paddle through the one mile canoe trail. More than 100 species of migratory birds have been sighted at Woods Bay State Natural Area, and alligators can be easily spotted from the boardwalk!
