Home of the historic “Atalaya” castle, Huntington Beach State Park is a beautifully preserved 2500 acre park with beach along the Grand Strand.

The park offers natural coastal environments like a freshwater lagoon, saltmarsh, maritime forest and of course, the sandy shore. You can have a picnic or camp in the sea breeze, hike nature trails, enjoy boardwalks, or just relax along 3-miles of beach.

More than 300 species of birds at the park bring birders from across the world. In addition to the feathered friends, you may come upon loggerhead turtles, alligators, and minks.

While you are there, visit the former winter home of American sculptress, Anna Hyatt Huntington, the “Atalaya” castle. The castle’s name translates to mean “watch tower” and is characterized by Spanish design.
