Visit the Georgetown County Museum to see a unique exhibit on plantation life. You’ll find articles from both the personal and agricultural lives of families living on the plantations in Georgetown.

Check out a “trunk dock” which helped control the flow of water onto the fields during the growing season. Articles of clothing and tools used by slaves on the plantations are on display in museum as part of the Plantation Collection.

Beyond plantation life, you will also see a period of time spanning over 300 years represented in the museum, including a military room dedicated to articles from the Civil War. From rice to revolution, the museum is a window into the past.

The Rice Trunk Gift Shop is now open.
