Chesterfield Historic District

The Historic District of Chesterfield offers beautiful tree lined streets with structures dating back to the town’s inception in 1785. Admire the architecture of historic churches and buildings down Main Street. See the John Craig House built by Craig, the first settler of Chesterfield, in 1798. The John Craig House holds the title as being the oldest in Chesterfield and served as General William T. Sherman’s headquarters during his stay in the Civil War. This beautiful town is rich in history!
